LONG LIVE HANDMADE.
My love affair with lasers, sawdust, and making started in college. I was attending Ohio State (Go Bucks!) for interior design and loved every minute of my time in the studio; tinkering around making models of my designs. It was through my major that I was introduced to the wood shop, power tools, and the laser cutter. It was love at first cut!
Soon enough I was working in an office every day; it felt nothing like studio did. I found myself yearning to break out of my cubicle, create something with my hands, and put my creative mind to use.
I made it a resolution to find a creative outlet. I didn't know what that meant yet, I just knew I needed something beyond my 9-5. I joined the Columbus Idea Foundry, a large maker space in the heart of Columbus. Finally, I had access to a wood shop and laser cutter again!
I opened my online shop in 2014 and side hustled my creative business, learning as I went. In February 2017, I made the leap into working at LGS full time. It's been exhilarating and nerve racking all at once, and is definitely the boldest thing I've done in my adult life. I'm so thankful that you're here and you're following along on my small business adventure!
